LHSOM Collective (USA)
The LHSOM Collective is a dynamic jazz combo representing the Lionel Hampton School of Music (LHSOM) at the University of Idaho. This unique group brings together outstanding student musicians and dedicated faculty in a collaborative, mentorship-driven setting that exemplifies the school’s commitment to both artistic excellence and experiential learning.
Under the direction of LHSOM faculty, the Collective explores a wide-ranging repertoire that includes straight-ahead jazz, original compositions, and reimagined arrangements of jazz standards. Rooted in the legacy of Lionel Hampton—a pioneer of swing and creative innovation—the ensemble honors jazz tradition while embracing its ongoing evolution.
