Rabin Lal Shrestha


Tabla player Rabin Lal Shrestha is renowned as one of Nepal’s leading figures in classical music and as one of the nation’s greatest performers, recording artists and educators.He has recorded numerous albums and has many musical awards under his belt. Mr. Shrestha worked as a music teacher in the Royal Palace and for over two decades he has been a lecturer and Head of Department at Nepal’s Tribhuvan University Fine Arts Campus. Internationally he has toured in Europe and has served as Associate Music Lecturer at University of Agder in Norway. Coming from a musical family, Mr. Bijay Lal Shrestha started learning Tabla at the age of four. He completed his masters degree at the age of 18 and is completing a masters degree in sitar at Lalitkala campus. Bijay Shrestha has shared the stage with the world-renowned flautist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia and has released four albums since 2012. He recently returned from a European tour (Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Austria and Italy) with his band Prana Mundi.
